Topic: The importance of warming up
Warming up is a preparation for physical exertion. Warming up is used to increase heart rate, breathing rate and body temperature.
A warm-up should last approximately 5-10 mins. Reasons why warming up is important Warming up prevents injuries by loosening your joints and improving blood flow to your muscles, making your muscles less likely to rip, tear, or twist in a harmful way during your activities. It also delivers oxygen to the exercising muscle group and prepares the cardiovascular system for physical activities. There are 3 types of warm-up stretches Ballistic : involves bouncing or jerking. Static : involves flexing the muscles. Dynamic: involves moving the body part in the desired way until reaching the full range of motion to improve performance.
