The month of September is celebrated as Miss Lou’s Month.
Louis Bennet Coverly also known as Miss Lou,
was born in Kingston, Jamaica,  on September 7, 1919.
She was a Jamaican poet and folklorist.
She wrote her poems and songs in creole.
She died in Toronto Canada on July 6, 2006.
