The body is made up of many parts. Inside the body are some important body
parts or organs. Each special organ or body part has its own important job to
do. The body parts that are inside the body are called internal parts.
The body parts that are outside of the body the body are called external
body parts.
The brain is an organ inside the head.
The brain controls everything we do. It is in our brain we learn new things, remember, decide right from wrong and make new plans. The brain controls what we do. The brain is connected to the rest of the body by cords called spinal cord. The nerves carry messages to and from the body to the brain.
Activity:
Write the names of some internal and external body parts.
Write some things you use your brain to do each day.
The brain controls everything we do and is working even when we are asleep.
Questions:
A. What is the brain.
B. How the brain functions (receives and sends messages/information) with the nerves and spinal cord
C. Show picture of spinal cord and nerves
Discuss that because of the brain we can learn, think, make new plans decide what is right from wrong.
