What are consonants?
A consonant is a speech sound that is not a vowel.
Consonants are all the non-vowel sounds, or their
corresponding letters: A, E, I, O, U and sometimes Y
are not consonants.

Some of these consonants can be put together to
create blends such as st, nk, mp, nd and sk.
These are a few examples of sound blends, try saying
 each one.
For today's lesson we will look at these consonant
blends in the final position:

3. Mp
Here are examples of words with final mp blends

Some examples of these words are
sand, wand, pond, send, tend, find


5. Sk
 Examples of this blend are
mask, task, risk, desk, disk, tusk
