Topic: The parts of the tooth
 

 

The Crown: Is the part you see when you smile or open your mouth.
The root-: Is below the gum line.
 It’s about two - thirds (2/3) of the tooth’s total length.
The enamel: Is the durable white covering.
 This enamel on the tooth is the hardest substance 
in the body.
The dentine: Makes up the largest part of the tooth.
The pulp: Is in the centre of the tooth. It is a soft tissue 
which contains blood, lymph vessels and nerve fibres.
Activity:
1. What is the meaning of the word enamel?
2. List the parts of the tooth.
3. What makes up the largest part of the tooth?

4. Where is the dentine found?
