Concrete Nouns Concrete nouns are names of people, places and things that we can experience through our senses – sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell. Concrete nouns are also common nouns.
- She put the book on the table.
The noun, book, is a concrete noun. You can touch it, see it, or even smell it.
Write the following sentences in your notebook and
underline the concrete nouns.

What are abstract nouns?
Abstract nouns are names of things we cannot see, hear or touch. They name experiences, feelings and ideas.
Examples: honesty, obedience, freedom, growth
When Joseph dived into the violent waves to rescue drowning puppy, his bravery amazed the crowd of fishermen standing on the dock.
Bravery, in this sentence, is an abstract noun.
Write these sentences in your notebooks and circle the abstract nouns.
