A COLLECTIVE NOUN is a word used for a group or collection of objects, people, animals, feelings and even ideas. Example: a gaggle of geese, a crew of sailors, a range of opinions. |
Gaggle is the collective noun for ‘geese’.
Crew is the collective noun for ‘sailors’.
Range is the collective noun for ‘opinions’.
Each collective noun is a group name.
Activities
- Complete the sentence on page 25 of your Language Arts Workbook 4; then do exercises 1 and 2.
- On page 10 and exercise 11 of your New Junior English Revised, complete each sentence by filling in the blank space with the correct collective noun.
Write the sentences from exercise 11 in your notebooks.
Homework
