Subject: Mathematics

Topic: Arithmagons

Arithmagons are polygons with a circle number on each vertex and a box number on each side such that each box number is the sum of the two circle numbers adjacent to it.

Notice that the sum of the two circle numbers on either side of a box number is equal to the box number. This is the basis of all arithmagons.

TERM 3 LESSON 1 (APRIL 27, 2020) : PATTERNS In this unit, students will: o Generate and describe patterns and develop rules associated with them. Design and describe geometric patterns.  From a patterning rule expressed in words, develop number patterns using any of the four arithmetic operations.  Associate each term in a pattern with its position in the sequence and express this information in a tabular form.  Make predictions for geometric and numerical patterns.

TERM 3 LESSON 2 (APRIL 30, 2020): LINES OF SYMMETRY In this unit, students will:  Explore the ideas of symmetry in geometric figures and shapes. Objective(s):  Associate symmetry with reflection;  Identify the mirror line of a reflection;  Identify the mirror line as being a line of symmetry;  Show the diameter of a circle as a line of symmetry;  Identify the possible lines of symmetry in geometric shapes and objects.
