Most Caribbean Countries have gained their independence from their European colonizers.
However there are a few countries which are still controlled by a mother country and these are called dependent territories.
Caribbean territories still ruled by Britain are:
- Montserrat
- Anguilla
- Turks and Caicos
- Cayman Islands
- British Virgin Islands

2) Martinique
Some Caribbean Territories still ruled by the Netherlands are:
1) Aruba
2) Curacao
3) Bonaire
