Face Value, Place Value and Value
The face value of a number is the number itself.
eg. The face value of the underlined digit in 4325 is 3
The face value of the underlined digit in 8765 is 6
The place value of a number is the position it occupies based on the decimal number system.
eg. The place value of the underlined digit in 8765 is TENS
The place value of the underlined digit in 4325 is HUNDREDS
The value of a number is the Face value times the place value.
eg. The value of the underlined digit in 8765 is
6 TIMES TEN = SIXTY
eg. The face value of the underlined digit in 4325 is 3
