Migration
 
People are always moving from one place to another.
 
Some move within their country, and some move to other countries. When we leave where we live and settle somewhere else we call this migration.
 
When you move into a country you are called an immigrant.  When you move out of a country you are called an emigrant.
You are an emigrant when you leave from one place and an immigrant when you arrive at a place.
People migrate for various reasons.

  1. For better paying jobs.
  2. For better educational opportunities
  3. For better health care
  4. To join their families and citizens of foreign countries
  5. To escape a natural disaster like hurricane , earthquake and flood.
  6. To find a better place to live
  7. To find more comfortable accommodation.

 
Push and Pull Factors
 
The things that cause someone to leave a place are called push factors.
 
The things that attract someone to a new place are called pull factors.
