Use the following concepts to fill the blanks in the passage.
 

Jamaica was a (1) ___________________of the British (2) __________________ for over three centuries;
thus the country was under (3) ____________________ rule. This meant we did not have our own (4)
___________________. We had to follow British rules.  Before 1944, the majority of Jamaicans had no (5)
