The Portuguese, Lebanese and Syrians.
These persons also came to the Caribbean after slavery had ended. Many came to get away from the ongoing wars in their countries. They set up businesses in the Caribbean. Today many of them are in the haberdashery, cloth and dry goods business. Many of their descendants can be found in the islands of Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago as well as Jamaica.
Until today these countries are still plagued with wars and persons are trying to escape by going to other countries. See photo below of persons trying to save the children from the ongoing war in Syria. See more
